4/23/2025 1:25:00 PM

DANBURY, Conn. - Each week, WestConn Athletics selects one female and one male student-athlete as the Wolves of the Week, recognizing their outstanding performances in their respective sports from the previous week. The honorees are announced every Wednesday.  The 30th overall of 2024-25 and 16th Wolves of the Week of 2025 have been selected thanks to their strong performances on the turf and the diamond. Women's lacrosse senior Savannah Kom (Danbury, Conn.) and baseball senior Nick Moeller (Mahopac, N.Y.) have been named as the Wolves of the Week.

Kom totaled eight points on four goals and four assists to lead WestConn to a come-from-behind, 14-13 win at UMass-Dartmouth.  Kom also scooped a pair of ground balls, caused a turnover, and notched six draw controls versus the Corsairs.  She scored three goals in a row in the third quarter to tie the game at 10-10.  Kom has 31 goals and 14 assists for 45 points this spring.

Moeller went 9-for-24 in seven games, scoring nine times and driving in six runs to lead WestConn to three wins.  He also walked seven times and was hit by a pitch twice to record a .545 on-base percentage for the week, doubled once and stole three bases.  Moeller leads the Wolves with a .404 batting average this spring along with team-highs of nine doubles and 25 RBIs.
