DANBURY, Conn. - Each week, WestConn Athletics selects one female and one male student-athlete as the Wolves of the Week, recognizing their outstanding performances in their respective sports from the previous week. The honorees are announced every Wednesday.  The 19th overall and fourth Wolves of the Week of 2025 have been selected thanks to their strong performances on the basketball court. Women's basketball freshman Deona Garcia (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) and men's basketball junior Jahlyl Morgan (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) have been named as the Wolves of the Week.

Garcia came off the Wolves' bench to score 10 points, making four of five shots from the field and both of her three-point tries at Castleton on Saturday.  She also made three steals against the Spartans.  At UMass Boston, last Wednesday. Garcia totaled six points and grabbed six boards.  WestConn will host LEC rival Eastern Connecticut tonight at 5 p.m.

Morgan earned his second start of the winter on Saturday at Castleton and responded with eight points, four rebounds, three assists, and four steals in an 87-72 win over the Spartans.  Morgan made four of eight shots from the floor in two Wolves victories last week.  WestConn will entertain LEC rival Eastern Connecticut tonight at 7 p.m.
