Norales And Stoliker Honored As WestConn Athletics Wolves Of The Week

10/30/2024 11:49:00 AM

DANBURY, Conn. - Each week, WestConn Athletics selects one female and one male student-athlete as the Wolves of the Week, recognizing their outstanding performances in their respective sports from the previous week. The honorees are announced every Wednesday.  The ninth Wolves of the Week of 2024 fall season have been selected thanks to their strong performances on the soccer pitch and on the volleyball court. Men's soccer sophomore Jeffrey Norales  (Bronx, N.Y.) and volleyball sophomore Julia Stoliker (Red Hook, N.Y.) and have been named as the Wolves of the Week.

Norales' contributions were pivotal in recent WestConn matches. In an Little East Conference (LEC) contest against Southern Maine on Saturday, Norales scored the game's only goal late in the first half, securing a 1-0 shutout victory for the Wolves and sole possession of first place in the conference. Previously, Norales had showcased his playmaking abilities with an assist on the decisive goal during WestConn's 2-1 victory against Trinity College.

Stoliker, the 2023 LEC Rookie of the Year, has fought her way back onto the court despite an injury early in the season and rose to the occasion in a big way last week. She posted team-highs of 13 kills and 21 digs in the Wolves' 3-1 win over Eastern Connecticut on Wednesday, handing the Warriors their first LEC loss of the year. In a conference road match against UMass Boston on Saturday, Stoliker recorded 10 kills and 11 digs.
