4/16/2025 2:24:00 PM

DANBURY, Conn. - Each week, WestConn Athletics selects one female and one male student-athlete as the Wolves of the Week, recognizing their outstanding performances in their respective sports from the previous week. The honorees are announced every Wednesday.  The 29th overall of 2024-25 and 15th Wolves of the Week of 2025 have been selected thanks to their strong performances on the turf and the track. Men's tennis junior Aidan Burke (Wilton, Conn.) and softball sophomore Lindsay Farinacchio (Red Hook, N.Y.) have been named as the Wolves of the Week.

Burke went a combined 6-0 last week at No. 2 singles and No. 1 doubles alongside Kevin Tenesaca, leading the Wolves to a 3-0 match record for the week, defeating Albertus Magnus (5-2) and SUNY Purchase (4-3) in non-conference play before taking down Southern Maine in Little East Conference (LEC) action, 5-4. He posted a shutout singles win at Albertus Magnus before earning a 7-6 (7-5), 7-5 singles triumph at SUNY Purchase, and closed the week with a shutout win at USM.  Burke was named the LEC Player of the Week for his fine performance.

Farinacchio went 3-0 with a 1.75 ERA in her five total appearances for the Wolves last week. She scattered four hits and three walks over three shutout innings of a 13-5 non-conference win over Mount St. Mary before firing a one-hit shutout in an 8-0 league win over Keene State, fanning three over her five innings of work. Farinaccio then handed league-leading UMass Boston its first conference loss of the season, allowing one run on six hits with four Ks in a 2-1 WestConn victory. Farinacchio was honored as the LEC Softball Pitcher of the Week for her outstanding performance last week.
