Bresnahan And Vallie Honored As WestConn Athletics Wolves Of The Week

3/5/2025 2:40:00 PM

DANBURY, Conn. - Each week, WestConn Athletics selects one female and one male student-athlete as the Wolves of the Week, recognizing their outstanding performances in their respective sports from the previous week. The honorees are announced every Wednesday.  The 23rd overall and ninth Wolves of the Week of 2025 have been selected thanks to their strong performances on the turf and the diamond. Women's lacrosse graduate Molly Bresnahan (Noank, Conn.) and baseball sophomore Ryan Vallie (East Haven, Conn.) have been named as the Wolves of the Week.

Bresnahan, who also repeated as the Little East Conference (LEC) Goalie of the Week, stopped 19 of the 23 shots she faces in a pair of lopsided WestConn wins last week, posting a 2.00 goals against average and .826 save percentage. She opened the week totaling 15 saves in a 15-3 rout of Smith before stopping four of the five shots on target she saw in a 15-1 drubbing of Farmingdale State. Bresnahan also caused three turnovers in the triumph over the Pioneers.

Vallie was named as the LEC Player of the Week, graced the D3Baseball.com National Team of the Week (2B), and made the National Collegiate Baseball Writers (NCBWA) Division III Hitter of the Week honor roll after going a perfect 8-for-8 with two extra-base hits, seven runs scored and seven RBI as the Wolves opened their 2025 season with two blowout victories at Yeshiva Friday. He was 5-for-5 with one double, one triple, five RBI and four runs scored in a 36-0 game-one rout before going 3-for-3 with a walk, two RBI and three runs scored in the 27-0 game-two win.
