Morgan And Okoroafor Honored As WestConn Athletics Wolves Of The Week

2/19/2025 10:50:00 AM

DANBURY, Conn. - Each week, WestConn Athletics selects one female and one male student-athlete as the Wolves of the Week, recognizing their outstanding performances in their respective sports from the previous week. The honorees are announced every Wednesday.  The 21st overall and seventh Wolves of the Week of 2025 have been selected thanks to their strong performances on the court and the track. Women's basketball senior Tyonna Morgan (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) and men's track and field sophomore Kenneth Okoroafor (Trumbull, Conn.) have been named as the Wolves of the Week.

Morgan dominated the boards in a Wolves setback against Keene State, pulling down 12 rebounds to go with two points and an assist against the Owls.  Morgan also had four more rebounds and three points in a loss to Rhode Island College.  Morgan will be playing in her final collegiate game on Saturday, February 22 at UMass Dartmouth, and has accumulated 112 points, 164 rebounds, and 28 blocks for the Wolves.

Okoroafor finished seventh in the 60-meter finals race with a time of 7.13 in the NYU Invitational at New York City Armory over the weekend.  Okoroafor was just .002 seconds shy of sixth place and had earned his way into the finals with the fifth-fastest preliminary time of 7:13.  He also currently owns the 11th-fastest time in the event in all of the NCAA Division III Mideast Region this winter with a winning performance at 7.01 in the Wesleyan Invitational.  WestConn will compete in its first-ever Little East Conference (LEC) Indoor Track and Field Championship Meet on Saturday, February 22 in Rhode Island.
