Gracy And Hawthorne Honored As WestConn Athletics Wolves Of The Week

3/12/2025 10:21:00 PM

DANBURY, Conn. - Each week, WestConn Athletics selects one female and one male student-athlete as the Wolves of the Week, recognizing their outstanding performances in their respective sports from the previous week. The honorees are announced every Wednesday.  The 24th overall and 10th Wolves of the Week of 2025 have been selected thanks to their strong performances on the lacrosse turf. Women's lacrosse graduate Vicky Gracy (Bethel, Conn.) and men's lacrosse graduate Benjamin Hawthorne (Manorville, N.Y.) have been named as the Wolves of the Week.

Gracy scored four times, including the game-winner, and added three draw controls, two ground balls, and two caused turnovers in WestConn's 15-8 win over previously-undefeated Worcester State.  In an 11-9 victory at Westfield State, Gracy notched three goals, one assist, three caused turnovers, two ground balls, and a draw control. She scored one two of her three free positions last week and also scored her 200th career goal and became WestConn's all-time leader in draw controls this spring.

Hawthorne totaled five points on three goals and two assists in WestConn's 14-11 setback against Connecticut College.  He also had a goal and an assist in a 14-4 loss at Hartford.  Hawthorne leads the Wolves with 10 assists this spring and is WestConn's all-time leading feeder with 142 career assists.
