WestConn Women's Track And Field Starts Busy Weekend At Edmondson Invitational

WILLIMANTIC, Conn. - Freshman Ashlyn Flood (Stamford, Conn.) finished third in the javelin throw with a distance of 115'05", as the Western Connecticut State University Wolves finished 11th as a squad in the Bonnie Edmondson Women's Outdoor Track and Field Invitational this afternoon at Eastern Connecticut State University.  WestConn earned 11 points in the team standings, including eight on Flood's javelin throw performance and three more thanks to a sixth-place time of 1:03.63 by senior Darline Fleurimond (Stamford, Conn.) in the 400-meter dash.  Fleurimond was also 10th in the 200 meters at 27.47, while freshman Marisol Tapia (Danbury, Conn.) was 14th and senior Vivian Pereira (Bethel, Conn.) was 16th in the 800 meters.  Wolves sophomore Jelise Walston (Bridgeport, Conn.) added a 23rd-place finish in the 100-meter dash and a 26th-place finish in the 200 meters.  WestConn will have athletes competing tomorrow in the Trinity Invitational.
