DARTMOUTH, Mass. - Freshman Ashlyn Flood (Stamford, Conn.) finished fifth in the javelin throw with a distance of 32.31 meters, as the Western Connecticut State University Wolves opened the 2025 women's outdoor track and field season in the Corsair Classic at the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth this afternoon. 

The Wolves, competing in their first-ever outdoor meet, scored five points to tie Massachusetts Maritime for 13th place including four on Flood's performance and one more thanks to an eighth-place distance of 33.97 meters by Wolves sophomore Annastacia Seville (Torrington, Conn.) in the hammer throw.  WestConn senior Darline Fleurimond (Stamford, Conn.) competed in three sprints, finishing 16th in both the 100- and 400-meter dash and 19th in the 200 meters.
