9/2/2025 2:51:00 PM

DANBURY, Conn. – Western Connecticut State University Head Football Coach Kevin Jones has  announced Keion Jones as an assistant football coach for the 2025 season.  Jones, who graduated from WestConn this year, was a quarterback for the Wolves and led them to the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament in 2023.  Jones will coach the Wolves wide receivers this fall.  Jones earned his bachelor's degree from WestConn in small business/entrepreneurship.

"I am extremely proud to hire another WestConn alum in Keion Jones," said Kevin Jones.  "Keion is a tireless worker, and understands our system better than anyone.  He came out to help us last spring and I immediately knew I had to figure out a way to keep him in our program.  As a player, he was already a coach on the field.  The transition into coaching should be a seamless one."

Jones was a Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference (MASCAC) All-Conference honoree in 2023, leading the league in passing yards and finishing second in passing touchdowns that season.  Jones was also second in all of NCAA Division III football in yards per completion two autumns ago, and was honored as the team MVP.  Jones also received MASCAC All-Academic recognition in both 2023 and 2024.  He was elected a team captain as a senior last fall and received the program's Sean Salisbury Man of the Year Award in 2024.

"I am incredibly honored and excited to be joining the WestConn coaching staff," said Keion Jones. "This program has given me so much over the years, and I look forward to giving back, mentoring our student-athletes, and working with the coaching team to build on our legacy of success."
