NASHUA, N.H. - The visiting Western Connecticut State University Wolves jumped out to a 2-0 lead at halftime but surrendering a pair of markers in the second frame, settling for a 2-2 draw against the Rivier University Raiders in women's soccer action this evening aty Joanne Merrill Field. WestConn moves to 0-1-1 and will visit the United States Merchant Marine Academy next on Saturday at noon. Rivier improves to 0-2-1. WestConn's two unassisted goals were scored by senior midfielder

Corcoran's first goal as a Wolf came in the 12th minute after Rivier goalie Bri Nugent had made two early saves. Blacher gave the Wolves a 2-0 lead on the final shot of the first half with 2:27 left before intermission. The Raider defense clamped down in the second half, allowing just two shots-on-goal, both by Blacher, that were both stopped by Nugent. Bianca Casna scored early in the second stanza and Samantha Franks tied the game in the 77th minute for Rivier. WestConn junior goalkeeper
Gracen Regan (Monroe, N.J.) made two of her six saves down the stretch to preserve the stalemate. Most statistics were even. WestConn held a 13-to-7 advantage in the first half but Rivier shot 11 times to just two for the Wolves in the second half.
