4/9/2025 10:30:00 PM

Box Score NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Junior Aidan Burke (Wilton, Conn.) did not allow a point in singles or doubles to lead the visiting Western Connecticut State University Wolves to a 5-2 victory over the Albertus Magnus College Falcons in men's tennis action this afternoon.  WestConn wins its second match in a row to improve to 3-6, handing Albertus Magnus its first loss in six matches this spring.  The Wolves will get right back to the courts tomorrow with a 3:30 p.m. match at SUNY Purchase.

Burke and senior doubles partner Kevin Tenesaca (Danbury, Conn.) set the tone with an 8-0 win at the top of the ladder, while senior Caleb Harris (Guilford, Conn.) and freshman Jose Zambrano (Danbury, Conn.) won, 8-4, at third doubles to give WestConn the doubles point.  Rookie Jack Buck (New Fairfield, Conn.) earned his first collegiate victory, 6-4, 6-4, at sixth singles.  Burke's 6-0, 6-0 victory at second singles followed soon after, and both Harris and senior Nicholas Peschier (Bridgeport, Conn.) also posted straight-set singles wins.

'We were able to test the depth in our lineup today and saw some pretty good results," said WestConn Head Coach Shawn Stillman. "Good for Jack getting his first college win. Back at it tomorrow vs Purchase, hopefully we can keep it going."
