MAHWAH, N.J. - The Western Connecticut State University field hockey squad jumped out to an early 1-0 lead, however, Ramapo College rallied to down the visitors, 5-1, in a non-conference matchup on Wednesday evening at Athletic Center Turf. Senior Vanessa Dominguez (Danbury, Conn.) got the Wolves on top with her third goal of the season but it wasn't enough to stop the Roadrunner comeback.
Elianna Momm paced the hosts with a pair of goals which included her fifth marker of the campaign. Anna Plaia added her sixth score of the year, while Tessa Pofahl added her first strike of the season.Â
Ramapo held the advantage in shots, 24-11, and penalty corners, 10-6. The visitors held the 1-0 advantage heading into the second quarter before the hosts mounted their comeback. Momm netted her first goal 21:37 into the game. Pofahl gave the Roadrunners their first lead less than two minutes later to seize a 2-1 halftime advantage.

Jaden Kilmer (East Islip, N.Y.) took the loss but finished with 11 saves. Sam Fried earned the win for the hosts, while turning aside five shots.
With the loss, the Wolves sank to 6-10 overall while the Roadrunners improved to 4-11. WestConn returns to action for their regular season finale when they host Plymouth State University in a Little East Conference battle slated for Saturday at 9:30 a.m.
