DANBURY, Conn. - The Western Connecticut State University Wolves forced 40 turnovers and received 53 points from its bench to hand the visiting Vermont State University Castleton Spartans an 87-70 loss in the Little East Conference (LEC) Men's Basketball action this evening at Feldman Arena. WestConn improves to 5-4 with its fourth win in five games and improves to 1-1 in the LEC. Castleton falls to 1-6 overall and 0-1 in the league. Junior guard
Tayejon Lynch (Cambria Heights, N.Y.) paced WestConn with 14 points. Castleton's Ben Seiler led all scorers with 31 points. WestConn will visit conference rival Plymouth State next on Saturday at 3 p.m.

Keeshawn Jones (Middletown, Conn.) started a 13-0 WestConn run with a drive at the 16:04 mark and freshman Nick Moore (Buffalo, N.Y.) completed the run with 11:38 on the clock to make the score, 17-5, with 11:38 remaining in the first half. The Wolves continued the build their lead and a jumper by rookie center
Marcel Henry (Yonkers, N.Y.) made the score, 47-28, with 2:32 left before Seiler made a trey to cut it to 47-31 at halftime. WestConn maintained control the entire second half, taking its biggest lead at 87-56, on two Henry free throws with 3:36 remaining.

Nick Boyce (Buffalo, N.Y.) and sophomore guard
C.J. Riley (Yonkers, N.Y.) netted 11 points apiece. Boyce, Jones and Lynch paced WestConn on the glass with five boards apiece, and Lynch also had five assists, five steals, and a blocked shot. Leonard Brice and Will Radcliff scored 10 points each for the Spartans. Castleton's Justin Schwarzbeck grabbed a game-high nine rebounds and Zach Thompson dished five assists.
