The contest was close early in the first before the Panthers captured a 30-21 lead when Swanson stole the ball and notched a layup. However, WestConn surged back with a run to close the gap to 30-29 at halftime when Riley nailed a three-pointer just before the clock expired.  The Wolves stretched the advantage to 10 points in the second half when junior guard Tayejon Lynch (Cambria Heights, N.Y.) knocked down a shot from the charity stripe to make it 49-39 with 8:17 to go.
