The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth women's soccer team clinched the third seed in Little East Conference tournament after outlasting Western Connecticut State University on Saturday evening at Cressy Field, 1-0.

UMass Dartmouth (11-7-1, 4-3 LEC) will host the sixth seeded Southern Maine in the opening round of the conference tournament on Tuesday, November 05 at Cressy Field.  The time of the match is to be determined.

The lone goal of the contest came 1:16 into the second half. Upon chesting the ball down, the junior gathered and booted the ball past a diving Western Connecticut goalkeeper for her fifth mark of the year.

UMass Dartmouth goalkeeper Michelle Miller (Westford, Mass.) made two saves and captured her eight win of the year, while Colonial's keeper Alison Rettenmeier (Sherman, Conn.) stopped five shots in the losing effort.

The Corsairs outshot Western Connecticut 15-12 and landed four more shots on target in the win.

The Colonials return to action on Tuesday, November 5th, when they host Eastern Connecticut in the opening round of this year's Little East Conference Tournament.  Game time at the Westside Athletic Complex is yet to be determined.
