Western Connecticut State University has announced the hiring of Brett Tenaglia as an assistant coach for the 2024-25 season. Tenaglia brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of excellence to the world of lacrosse coaching. A distinguished player and leader, his career highlights include his time as a standout athlete at Syracuse University and Furman University, as well as an accomplished high school career.
Tenaglia was a four-year player at Syracuse captain of the 2024 squad. He also made a significant impact at Furman, where he excelled as a freshman before the program was dropped as a varsity sport. Leading the paladins in goals, assists, and overall points, Tenaglia earned a spot on the College Cross Freshman All-American team and was honored as the Big South Conference Player of the Week. Brett's dedication to the sport, combined with his remarkable achievements, makes him an asset as our offensive coordinator."

Tenaglia starred locally in high school lacrosse at New Fairfield High School, where he was recognized as a USLacrosse All-American. At New Fairfield, he played a pivotal role in securing state championships in his junior and senior years, as well as three conference championships. His impressive career statistics include 410 points, with 250 goals and 160 assists, underscoring his offensive talent and playmaking abilities.
With a deep understanding of the game and a passion for player development, Tenaglia is committed to helping the next generation of lacrosse players achieve their full potential. His coaching philosophy emphasizes skill development, strategic thinking, and the importance of teamwork, drawing on his extensive playing experience and leadership background.
