GROTON, Conn. - Freshman
Giancarlo Garippa (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) fired an 80 to finish second on the leaderboard and lead the Western Connecticut State University Wolves to first place in the Mitchell College Men's Golf Invitational this afternoon at Shenecosset Golf Club. WestConn totaled 328 as a squad, 10 better than second-place Dean in the team standings. The Wolves featured four freshman in their lineup, as
Logan Starks (Mechanicville, N.Y.) carded an 82, Matt Hayes (New Milford, Conn.) shot an 83, and
Ashton Clark-Sanford (Salamanca, N.Y.) finished with an 84. WestConn junior
Luke Reis (Mahopac, N.Y.) rounded out the winners' lineup to tie Hayes for fourth place. Starks was third and Clark-Sanford was sixth to give WestConn five of the top six individuals in the tournament.
