Croze & Imetovski Connect Three Times to Lead Women's Soccer Over Plymouth State, 5-0

DANBURY, Conn. – Ranked fifth in the latest United Coaches Division III Region One poll, the Western Connecticut State University women's soccer team coasted to a 5-0 victory over visiting Plymouth State University in a Little East Conference matchup at the Westside Athletic Complex on Friday night.

Junior forward Myah Croze (Bristol, Conn.) buried a hat trick while rookie midfielder Suzana Imetovski (Seymour, Conn.) assisted on each of her goals to lead WestConn.

The hosts drew first blood when sophomore midfielder Hannah Daly (Newtown, Conn.) gathered a deflected ball in the box and buried her first goal of the season in the 35th minute.
WestConn would blow the game wide-open in the second half.

Imetovski began the barrage when she raced down the left sideline, around a defender, and booted a cross from the end line to a wide open Croze in the 48th minute. The duo would connect on another pair of nearly identical scoring strikes later in the stanza, giving WestConn a 4-0 advantage and Croze her team-leading 19th and 20th goals of the campaign.
The hosts upped the margin to 5-0 when junior Shaye McGee (Brookfield, Conn.) gathered a loose ball after a corner kick and booted home her first tally of the year.

Senior netminder Karly Martin (Bristol, Conn.) turned aside six shots for WestConn, while junior Kristen Roessler (Danbury, Conn.) came on in relief to stop two. Despite allowing five goals, Panthers senior goalie Cat Robbins (Franklin, Mass.) put forth a solid performance as she came up big with several outstanding saves in the opening half. She finished with six saves.

With the win, WestConn remained undefeated, improving to 12-0 overall and 5-0 in conference play, while Plymouth dropped to 6-3-1 and 2-2-1.

WestConn returns to action when they host non-league foe Farmingdale State on Monday at 6 p.m.
